How wide can a red iron building be without interior columns?
Standard pre-engineered red iron spans up to 120 ft column-free, with 80 ft and 100 ft being the most common large-span widths. Anything wider than 120 ft typically requires interior support columns or custom engineering. Eave heights from 10 ft to 24 ft are standard; 30 ft+ available on request.
How long does delivery take?
Standard red iron kits ship in 6–12 weeks from order, depending on size, snow/wind loads, and current factory backlog. Larger commercial buildings (60×100+) typically take 10–14 weeks. We provide a firm ship-date estimate at quote time and update you when the building enters production.
Do I need a concrete slab?
Yes. Red iron columns transfer significant load to the foundation and require an engineered concrete slab or pier-and-grade-beam foundation sized for your specific building. The engineered drawings included with your kit specify the foundation requirements. Most slabs are 4–6 inches thick with thickened edges and rebar; we can recommend local concrete contractors.
